Bick scored the first six points on three field goals during the run, while Betesh followed with a pair of two-point field goals in back-to-back offensive possessions for Yeshiva. Betesh's second basket that capped off the run came off a fast break thanks to a steal and an assist by Bick.

St. Joseph's countered by scoring 11 unanswered points of their own, to take a commanding 53-36 advantage with 3:19 left in the third quarter. The period ended with the Golden Eagles up, 58-42.
