GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team burned up the nets inside Bream Gym with one of the best shooting performances in Centennial Conference history as part of a dominating 85-52 victory over Dickinson College Wednesday night.

Gettysburg (6-1, 4-0 CC) canned 35-of-54 attempts to finish at 64.8 percent for the game. It was the third-best shooting performance in conference history and the best since McDaniel College set the record with 67.9 percent against Franklin & Marshall College on Feb. 14, 2006.

Senior Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) finished 8-of-10 from the floor for a game-high 18 points. Gibbons also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds. Sophomore Ashley Gehrin (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) reached double-figures for the third consecutive game and finished one shy of her personal best with 15 points. Sophomore Kiera Cesareo (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) tied her season high with 13 points.

Dickinson (2-5, 2-2 CC) was led by Kassidy Lesher's 17 points. Mackenzie Skerritt added 10 points and Mairead Donahue contributed nine points.

Gettysburg canned more than half of its field goal tries in every single quarter Wednesday night. The Bullets opened with an 8-1 advantage as Gehrin drove her way to the cage for a pair of lay-ups. The Red Devils managed to pull the score to 15-11 on a three-pointer by Skerritt with 3:48 left in the quarter, but Gettysburg ran off the next six points and took a 10-point lead (23-13) into the next period.

The lead continued to grow in the second quarter as the Bullets canned 10-of-15 attempts, including all three tries from beyond the arc. A steal by Gibbons set up a fastbreak for Gehrin who ran straight in for the hoop and the harm. Her free throw was good and put Gettysburg in front 44-21 with 2:13 left before halftime. The Bullets finished the half with 49 points, the most by the team in any half this season.

With three players already in double-figures by the half, Gettysburg put it into cruise control over the final 20 minutes. The offensive efficiency maintained as an opening three by Skerritt was answered with nine-straight points by the hosts. Gibbon's lay-up made it 58-28 with 6:56 to go in the third quarter. The Bullets attempted only 11 shots in the final period with eight finding the bottom of the net.

By the end of the contest, 13 players had dropped in a field goal for Gettysburg. Junior Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) recorded eight points, five rebounds, and four assists, while sophomore Emma Hahner (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright) turned in seven points.

The team also tied a season high with eight three-pointers, while out-rebounding Dickinson 34-29. The Red Devils finished 18-of-58 (31 percent) from the floor. Gettysburg's bench out-scored the Dickinson reserves 33-11.
