Willimantic, Conn.-Senior guard Alex Moore (West Newbury, MA) scored a game-high 25 points and added 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the eighth-seeded Rhode Island College women's basketball team dropped a 74-62 decision against No. 1-seeded Eastern Connecticut in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Little East Conference Tournament on Tuesday evening. Moore finished her career in an Anchorwomen uniform with 1,147 career points and ranks 10th on the school's all-time scoring list. |

The score was tied, 19-19, less than two minutes into the second quarter before the Anchorwomen went on a 10-0 run, capped by a jumper by Moore, to take a 29-19 advantage with 4:25 left in the first half. Eastern Connecticut chipped away that the lead in the closing stages of the stanza and cut the RIC advantage down to one, 34-33, leading into the locker room at halftime. |

The host Warriors continued the run to start the third quarter and took a 44-36 advantage on a three-pointer from junior guard Kelly Reardon (Holyoke, MA). RIC responded and trimmed their deficit to just two points as a jumper by Moore with seven seconds on the clock left in the third quarter made the score 49-47. |

ECSU pushed its lead to double digits when a three-pointer from senior guard Jordyn Nappi (Southington, CT) made the score 63-53 with just under four minutes left in regulation. The Warriors then led by as many as 15 points down the stretch before securing the win and advancing to the semifinals of the tourney. |

RIC see its season come to an end in the loss. The Anchorwomen shot 37.3 percent (22-of-59) from the field, 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from behind the three-point stripe and 87.5 percent (14-of-16) from the free throw line. Eastern Connecticut shot 33.3 percent (26-of-78) from the field, 30.8 percent (8-of-26) from the three-point line and 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from the free throw line. ECSU held a 55-39 advantage in rebounds for the contest. |
