QUINCY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team was defeated by Eastern Nazarene College 81-57 in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball action Wednesday night at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
Senior Taylor Daniels (Dudley, Mass.) led the Bison with 16 points and seven boards while classmate Brittany Donovan (Newport, R.I.) collected 13 points and seven rebounds – including 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Sophomore Anna McDaniel (Taunton, Mass.) netted 11 points as the team shot 30 percent from the field and sank 75 percent of their free throws (15-of-20).
The Lions were led junior Kayla Torio (Manteca, Calif.) with 27 points and eight boards. Junior Ashley Rendon (La Puente, Calif.) chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds while senior BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) scored with 11 points and four boards. Eastern Nazarene canned 44 percent of its shots and outrebounded the Bison 57-28 edge on the glass.
The Lions led by four at the break (37-33) behind 10 points from Rendon. Daniels posted 11 points and three boards in the first half. The Lions outscored the Bison by five points in the third before scoring 23 of the 31 points scored in the fourth to pull away with the win.

Tonight's contest marked the 40th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Eastern Nazarene College. The Bison lead the series, 22-18, but have lost seven-straight and 11 of the last 12 meetings.
