BETHLEHEM, PA – Freshman Priya Mani scored a career-high 17 points in a 78-66 loss to Moravian College on the road Wednesday evening.
The first year player from Chantilly, VA shot 5-of-10 from three-point range to surpass her previous career-high of eight points that she scored against Catholic University on January 18th, 2017.
All five starters scored in double-digits for the Gophers. Senior Jaida Scarborough scored 13 points while junior Briana Bull and freshman Shalom Omo-Osagie scored 12 points each. Freshman Katie Pacak chipped in with 10 points.
Bull led the team on the boards with 16 while first-year forward Pacak supplemented her junior counterpart with 11 rebounds.
The Greyhounds were led by senior Camille McPherson with 27 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Nadine Ewald led Moravian with 11 rebounds.
How It Happened:
- The Gophers held the lead for the first eight minutes of the game before the Greyhounds wrestled it away with 1:57 to go in the first quarter.
- Moravian closed the first stanza on top, 19-16.
- The Gophers struggled in the second quarter, only scoring six points.
- The Greyhounds held a 34-22 lead at the mid-game break.
- Both teams came out firing in the third quarter, but Moravian kept pace above the Gophers scoring 24 points to Goucher's 22.
- Goucher outscored the Greyhounds 22-20 in the final frame, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
- Moravian took home its ninth Landmark win of the season, 78-66.
- The Gophers shot 33.8% (27-of-80) from the field while the Greyhounds held an advantage with 43.3% (26-of-60) shooting.
- Goucher outscored Moravian in points off turnovers (15-11) and second-chance points (16-6).
