(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Sophomore guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) recorded a triple-double tonight (Wednesday, February 8, 2017) to lead the No. 4-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 109-43 victory of Westminster College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 22-0 overall and 15-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Titans fall to 9-13 overall and 4-11 in the PAC.
Thomas More raced out to a 39-9 lead after one quarter and didn't look back as it led 60-22 at halftime and 87-38 after three quarters. The Saints out-scored the Titans 50-16 in the paint, 49-2 off turnovers, 18-3 on second chance points and 14-0 on fast break points.
Thomas More shot 53.1 percent (43-of-81) from the field, including 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from behind the three-point arc. The Saints defense forced 31 Titan turnovers and recorded 23 steals.
Temple recorded her triple-double with a game-high 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. She was joined in double-figure scoring by first-year guard Kylie Kramer (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) with 16 points, junior forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 14, first-year guard Taylor Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) with 13 points and senior forward Kirsten Paul (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) with 10 points. Temple also led the team in steals with five.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (February 11) when it travels to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to play Waynesburg University at 1:30 p.m.
