NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Junior forward/center Torrie Christlieb (Culver, Ind.) recorded her second double-double over a span of the last four contests, leading Manchester University past Anderson University Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Christlieb compiled 16 points and 11 rebounds in addition to a co-team-high four steals as part of a 61-54 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory. Sophomore forward/center Beth Schaefer (Fort Wayne, Ind.) was just one rebound shy of joining her teammate in double-double territory, ending with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Jenifer Lee (Rockville, Ind.) added to her name to the double digit points list, finishing with 12 points and four steals.
After a first 10 minutes dominated by the visitors, the home side got its offense going in the second period, winding up a 28-13 run when Lee drilled a three-pointer at the buzzer. The Ravens closed to within four points on several occasions in the second half but couldn't get any closer.
MU takes to the road for the final time in the 2016-17 regular season Saturday, Feb. 11. They join the men's team for a doubleheader at Rose-Hulman that features 2 (women) and 4 (men) p.m. tip-off times.
