Junior guard Jessa Rubera (Newton, MA) led RIC (5-13, 2-6 LEC) with eight points, two assists and two assists for the Anchorwomen. Freshman center Jessica Brielmaier (West Greenwich, RI) had seven points and four boards in the setback. |

Sophomore guard Jancy Sherwood (Poughquag, NY) paced Western Connecticut (11-7, 4-4 LEC) with 15 points, while junior guard Kaitlyn LaBonte (South Windsor, CT) added 14 points, two rebounds and three assists in the win for the Colonials. |

Western Connecticut dominated the play early and took a 16-1 lead heading into the first intermission. The visiting Colonials pushed their lead to 28 points on several occasions in the second quarter before taking the 34-9 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. Sherwood had 15 first half points for WCSU. The Colonials held RIC to just 11.1 percent shooting (3-for-27) from the field in the stanza. |
