WASHINGTON, DC – The Goucher women's basketball (4-11, LC 0-5) team dropped its fifth-straight game on the road to Catholic University, 79-50, despite junior Briana Bull's ninth double-double of the season.
Bull set the standard for the Gophers with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals in the game. Freshman Katie Pacak scored in double-digits for the third game in-a-row, hitting 10 points.
Freshman, Priya Mani, scored eight points and collected five rebounds – both career-highs for the young guard. Junior Anna Kirn also set a new career-best in the same categories with five points and five rebounds.
The Cardinals were led by junior Payton Smith and senior Michelle DeSantis with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Freshman Megan Stafford led the team with eight rebounds while senior Melissa Errico set the standard with five assists.
How It Happened:
- Catholic jumped out to a 19-12 lead in the first quarter, shooting 41.2% (7-of-17) in the first stanza.
- Mani led Goucher with five points in just seven minutes of play in the first quarter.
- The Cardinals put distance between themselves and the Gophers in the second quarter, outscoring Goucher 24-13, earning a 43-25 lead at the mid-game break.
- The Gophers were held scoreless in the opening 4:37 of the third quarter, while Catholic rattled off a 12-0 run to jump out ahead 55-25 with 5:23 to go in the period.
- Goucher outscored the Cardinals 19-14 in the final frame, but was unable to overcome the advantage and fell 79-50 in the end.
- The Gophers shot 35.1% (20-of-57) from the field over the course of the game while allowing 44.6% (29-of-65) shooting on part of the Cardinals.

Goucher remains on the road heading into Saturday's game at 2PM against Elizabethtown. The Gophers have been unable to top the Blue Jays in five meetings.
