Bull Notches Eighth Double-Double in Loss

HUNTINGDON, PA – Junior Briana Bull remained on a hot streak, scoring at least 20 points for the eighth consecutive game in a 79-60 loss on the road to Juniata College Wednesday evening.

 

In addition to scoring a game-high 22 points, Bull corralled a game-high 14 rebounds to notch her eighth double-double of the season. Senior Jaida Scarborough extended a streak of her own, scoring double-digits for the sixth game in a row.  Freshman Katie Pacak scored 10 points and collected five rebounds in the loss.

 

The Eagles were fueled by junior Dani Atkinson with 15 points and six rebounds. Fellow junior, Bri Wasser, was perfect from the field with 11 points on 6-of-6 shooting. Atkinson and freshman Suzy Badorf-England led the team with six rebounds each.

 

How It Happened:

  • Goucher (4-9, Landmark 0-3) jumped out to an early 8-4 lead before relinquishing the advantage with 1:45 to go in the first quarter.
  • Juniata closed the first stanza on a 12-1 run to take a 20-13 lead into the second quarter.
  • The Eagles maintained their lead in the second quarter despite the Gophers holding them scoreless in the final 3:39 of the half.
  • Juniata carried a 34-24 lead into the intermission.
  • In the third quarter Goucher maintained pace with the Eagles, but was unable to close the gap before entering the fourth quarter.
  • The Gophers were outscored 26-18 in the final quarter before falling 79-60 on the road.
  • The Eagles shot 38.7% (29-of-75) from the field while Goucher hit 34.4% (22-of-64) of its shots.

 

Up Next:

Goucher returns home on Saturday to take on Landmark foe, Scranton University at 2PM. In 19 meetings, the Gophers have been unable to top the Royals.
