MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team went on a 22-8 run in the fourth quarter to defeat Rhodes College 61-48 Friday night. The win was the Panthers third consecutive and second against a Southern Athletic Association opponent. They improved to 7-6 overall with the win, 2-0 in the SAA.
Camillia Carter (Hueytown, Ala./Hueytown HS) led with a team-high 16 points. Christian McGowan (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) and Jameice Holmes (Nashville, Tenn./University School of Nashville) finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Panthers stay on the road, continuing SAA play at Hendrix on Sunday, Jan. 6. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
