MILWAUKEE -- Mollie Mikyska became Alverno College's career rebounding leader, but the Inferno fell to visiting Benedictine University, 67-53, Thursday night at Reiman Gymnasium.

The senior center corralled her third rebound at the 5:17 mark of the second quarter, which was the 568th of her career to surpass former leader Jamie Hoernke atop the Alverno record book. Mikyska would finish the night with six boards and 12 points.

After trailing a majority of the first two quarters, the Inferno tied the score at 21 with 1:12 left in the half, but the Eagles (11-1, 7-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) scored the final five points of the half for the 26-21 lead.

A 14-4 run to open the third quarter increased the Benedictine lead to 15 and was extended to 21 early in the fourth.

Alverno chipped away at the Eagles' lead, and a Karli Selear 3-pointer made it 59-49 with three minutes to play, but the hosts couldn't get any closer.
