Hartford, Conn. – First-year Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) scored a game-high 17 points off the bench to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 90-49 victory over the visiting St. Joseph's College Golden Eagles in women's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 9-2 and 4-0 at home, while the St. Joseph's (L.I.) fall to 3-7.

Trinity outscored the Golden Eagles by at least 10 points in each of the first three quarters, and led, 46-20, at halftime after closing the second stanza with a 13-0 run that included six points by senior co-captain Sheena Landy (Durham, Conn.) and ended with two free throws and a three-pointer by junior guard Jessica Hom (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.).  Another trey by Hom followed by a dish from Hom inside to classmate Emily Llerena (New Milford, Conn.) gave the Bantams their biggest lead of the game at 90-45 with 3:04 remaining in the final period, before St. Joseph's scored the last four points of the game.

Trinity shot 49.4 percent from the field, including 54.1 percent in the second half, outrebounded the Golden Eagles, 48-28, and forced 22 turnovers.  Landy finished with 14 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and six steals, while rookie center Emily Peters (North Attleboro, Mass.) notched six points, a team-high 10 boards, and three blocked shots off the pine for Trinity.  Junior forward Andrea Iavarone (Miller Place, N.Y.) paced St. Joseph's with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore guard Alicia Indence (Centereach, N.Y.) added 13 points and four assists, and junior guard Jennifer Gubell (Levittown, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 12 points.
