BSC Starts Conference Play with 61-45 Win at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. –  The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team began its campaign to defend last year's Southern Athletic Association title with a win 61-45 win at Millsaps College Monday afternoon.  The Panthers move to 5-6 overall, 1-0 SAA with the win.

 

Camillia Carter (Hueytown, Ala./Hueytown HS) finished with a game-high 18 points after going 11-for-14 from the free throw line. Laura Van Peursem (Huntsville, Ala./Randolph HS) also had a big day. She earned a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  

 

And Jothani Dixon (Tuscumbia, Ala./Deshler HS) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures with 11 points of her own.

 

BSC continues play Tuesday, Jan. 3 at home against Agnes Scott College. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
