NORTH PARK, ILL. – Snagging the program's first 50-plus-rebound effort since the 2013-14 campaign highlighted Manchester University's clash with Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin school North Central College of Naperville, Ill., Sunday, Nov. 27.

The Spartans out-rebounded the high-flying Cardinals 51-47 led by freshman guard/forward Hannah Newby (Danville, Ind.) with seven, while junior forward Tori Christlieb (Culver, Ind.) added six and senior guard Jenifer Lee (Rockville, Ind.) grabbed five. Lee's five boards added to a solid afternoon, as she tallied 11 points and also picked off two steals. She was joined in the double-digit scoring column by junior forward Samantha Bolen (Greenwood, Ind.) (14 points).

All of those positives couldn't match-up with a Cardinal crew that drilled 17 three-point buckets in the 40-minute span. NCC, improving to 3-1, rolled out to a 34-20 lead after one quarter and continued to build the margin in route to a 116-72 victory.

Manchester University (0-5) moves into its pre-winter break Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule Saturday, Dec. 3. They join the Black and Gold men's squad for a doubleheader at Hanover College's Collier Arena. Tip-off times are 3 p.m. for the men and 5 p.m. for the women.

NOTES: Bolen, moving into a first-place tie with freshman guard Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.) for the team scoring lead, recorded her fourth double-figure scoring mark in five contests … Lee has been steady in scoring and rebounding, as she earned her third double-digit point total and grabbed at least five rebounds for the third time this season.
