PASADENA — Tala Ismail scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Triana Anderson added 10 points.

But the Occidental women's basketball team couldn't make it three wins in a row, losing to Macalester 58-49 at Caltech on Saturday.

The Tigers struggled to stop Macalester post Regan Fruh inside as she went for a game-high 25 points on 9 for 14 shooting. Oxy was also outrebounded 38-29 and had a poor night shooting from the outside, going 0 for 14 from three-point territory. 

Cheldon Alcantara and Erin Matsumoto each scored nine points for Oxy.

The Tigers fall to 3-2 overall. Macalester improves to 2-1.

Oxy is back in action against Northern N.M. on Dec. 3 at Oxy at 3 p.m.
