MONTCLAIR. N.J. – Sophomore guard forward Katie Sire (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) turned in a double-double performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead Montclair State to an easy 60-33 victory over Ramapo College in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest Saturday afternoon at the Panzer Athletic Center.

Sire, who posted her third straight double-double outing and eighth of the year,  scored 13 of her points in the first half as Montclair State led from start to finish. Sophomore forward Yazmine Lacey (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) added 10 points for MSU in a reserve role.

Montclair State, which improved its record to 13-6 on the season and 9-3 in the NJAC, won its second straight game and fifth in its last eight. It was the 200th career victory for coach Karin Harvey, who is now 200-76 in 10 seasons overall, including a 187-62 mark in nine seasons at Montclair State. It was also the 10th consecutive win for the Red Hawks over Ramapo as MSU holds a 51-9 lead in the all-time series between the schools.

The Red Hawks never looked back in the contest, scoring the game's first seven points and allowing just one field goal as they opened up a commanding 23-2 advantage after the first quarter. Montclair State, which held Ramapo to just 3-of-17 shooting (17.6 percent) in the first half,  built up a 26-point bulge twice in the second quarter at 28-2 and 33-8 before going into the halftime intermission , ahead 34-10.

Ramapo (4-15 overall, 2-11 NJAC), which dropped its fifth straight game and lost for the 10th time in its last 11 outings, managed to cut the Montclair State deficit to 15 points at 43-28 with 7:55 to play in the fourth quarter. But that would be as close as the Roadrunners would come.

Freshman guard Alexandra Seedes (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) topped Ramapo with 17 points and sophomore guard Bridgette Buckalew (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) scored 11 points.

Montclair State and Ramapo continue NJAC play as the Red Hawks travel to play The College of New Jersey on Monday night (2/1) while Roadrunners host New Jersey City on Wednesday (2/3) .
