OLIVET, Mich. – Jackie Harwood knocked down a pair of 3-point baskets to power an 8-0 run over the final minute of the first quarter and Olivet College went on to score a 76-61 victory over Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action.

Albion trailed by three, 12-9, after Jenna Beer scored a pair of free throws with 1:29 left in the opening quarter. Olivet mounted its run and led, 20-9, at the end of the period.

Albion trailed by as many as 15 in the second quarter, but Jay Bard scored a 3-point basket and Olivia Savage hit three free throws to pull the Britons within eight, 38-30, at halftime.

Albion scored the first four points of the second half – Emily Zgoda hit a 3-point shot and Darian Payne hit the first of two shots from the line – to trim the margin to 38-34, but that was as close as the Britons would get.

Dallas Austin and T'Keyia Collins combined for the next six points as Olivet boosted the margin to double digits.

Payne produced 22 points – her third 20-point game of the season – and fell a rebound shy of a double-double. She hit 10-of-11 attempts from the free throw line. Zgoda and Bard added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Britons.

Olivet had four players score in double figures, led by Bre Kidd with 17. Collins produced 13 off the bench, Shauni Hankins had 11, and Harwood with 10.

After playing its last five games on the road, Albion (8-11 overall and 4-6 against MIAA rivals) returns home Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Calvin.
