Rogers Nets Career-High 13 in Setback v. Pioneers

Canton, NY – Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) scored a team-high 16 points and Tatiana Laroche (Elmont, NY) tallied her sixth double-double of the season but a slow start hurt the SUNY Canton women's basketball team in a 77-57 loss to visiting Alfred State College on Wednesday in the Roos House.

Terrance posted 16 points and 6 rebounds, while Laroche added 14 points and 11 boards. Sade Rogers (Bronx, NY) chipped in with a career-high 13 points off the bench to go with five rebounds.

The Pioneers (3-13) opened up an 18-11 advantage after the opening quarter and extended their lead to 35-17 at intermission. The Roos (4-10), played fairly even with Alfred State after halftime only getting outscored by two points but were unable to mount the comeback.

 

Catherine Bialecki led all players with 20 points and added 10 rebounds for the Pioneers, while Breana Gleaton and Kimberly Levee chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Alfred State shot 35 percent from the field compared to just 26 percent shooting for the Roos. The visitors also controlled the rebounding in the contest 64-47, including a 23-12 mark on the offensive glass.
