Albion College owns a season-best four-game winning streak, and all of them have come on the road.

The Britons outscored Kalamazoo College, 24-12, in the third quarter to gain a 74-68 victory inside the Anderson Athletic Center. With the win, Albion improved to 8-10 overall and 4-5 in league play. The Britons have one more road date remaining – a Saturday matchup with Olivet College – before returning home Feb. 3 to square off against the nationally ranked squad from Calvin College.

"The atmosphere is great with our team. We are enjoying the win and taking it one game at a time," Head Coach Doreen Carden said.

The Britons opened the scoring in the contest, but the Hornets would go on a 10-0 run and end up leading 37-30 at the half. Albion shot just over 35 percent in the first half but was determined to turn it around in the second half, which they did.

"We got some easy looks in transition and did a better job of attacking the basket and giving us better chances," Carden said. "Darian Payne was in foul trouble most of the game so she definitely helped us offensively when she came back in the second half."

The adjustments the Britons made paid off in the third quarter as it began with a 6-0 scoring run. They increased their shooting percentage to nearly 40 percent and racked up 37 rebounds, 23 of which came on the defensive side of the ball.

Junior guard Olivia Savage pulled down 10 rebounds, a new career-high for the Macomb, Mich., native, to go along with six points.

The win was a collective team effort once again, as Albion placed four in double figures. Payne and Oreyana Curry finished with 13 apiece, but maybe more important was the lift the Britons received from bench players Catie Neary and Sophia Sanfilippo who produced 12  and 11, respectively.

"It's always good to get production from the bench," Carden said. "Every bit helps."
