New York, NY – Stockton University (14-3) broke away in the second half for a 76-65 victory in a non-conference road game at Baruch College (6-9) that was the 12th straight win for the Ospreys. The triumph set a new school record for consecutive wins, breaking the old mark of 11 in a row by the 2005-06 Stockton squad.

Najha Treadwell (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) led a balanced attack with team highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double. Shooting guards Lea Mendolla (Nutley/Mount St. Dominic) and Taylor Christina (Franklinville/Delsea) scored 15 points apiece. Mendolla went 5-10 from three-point range (50%) while Christina tied her career high with seven rebounds.

Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/CH West) notched a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds while freshman April Peterson (Lafayette/High Point) just missed one, finishing with 11 markers and nine boards. Francesca Gervato (Toms River/Msgr. Donovan) established a new career high in assists for the second straight game, finishing with nine helpers after dishing seven in her last outing.

Stockton scored the last seven points of the first quarter, highlighted by a three-point play from Peterson, to surge ahead 16-12. The second period featured six lead changes before the Ospreys finished strong again, closing with a 7-2 spurt that ended with Christina hitting all three free throws after being fouled on a three-point try in the final seconds to give Stockton a 30-26 edge.

The Ospreys raised their game in the third quarter, outscoring Baruch 21-11 behind six points apiece by Treadwell and Williams. The lead ballooned to 16 points at 51-35 on a layup by Christina in the final minute but the Bearcats answered with a late bucket to make it 51-37 in Stockton's favor after three periods.

After Baruch pulled within eight, the Ospreys clinched the victory with a 16-3 outburst during which Christina and Mendolla hit two three-pointers apiece. The run ended with Stockton leading 67-46 at the 5:43 mark and the margin remained at double figures the rest of the way as the Ospreys coasted to the record-setting 76-65 victory.

Stockton will try to avenge its last defeat, which came nearly two months ago on December 2, when the Ospreys visit The College of New Jersey for a conference game on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
