Second Half Surge By Stockton Defeats Baruch

The women's basketball team lost 76-65 to the Ospreys of Stockton University at home on Monday night in a non-conference contest that was generally closer than the final score would indicate.

Neither team shot the ball well this evening, but Stockton did connect on 5-of-11 threes in the second half to record their 12th consecutive win.

The turning point of the game took place in the final seconds before halftime as a three point play, coupled by the visiting Ospreys scoring nine of of the first 14 points to start the third period, gave them enough room to break out a 39-31 lead.

The Bearcats kept battling back but Najha Treadwell and Sasha Williams combined for 20 points and 20 rebounds down the stretch to lift their team to the win.


Jacqueline Kennedyled the Bearcats this evening with her 14th double-double of 21 points, 15 rebounds to go along with four steals and three blocks.

Shannon Barrettestablished another career-high with 15 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Veronica Ganzihad 12 points, including four steals, while Kristen Podlovitsalso had a near double-double with 11 points and nine assists.

Treadwell led the Ospreys from the New Jersey Athletic Conference with 18 points (8-13 fg) and 13 rebounds.

The Bearcats will resume their CUNYAC schedule on Wednesday, January 27, with a 5:30 pm contest at York College in Jamaica, New York.
