UMF Extends Conference Winning Streak to Six Games with a Win at Thomas

WATERVILLE, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington (7-5, 6-1) senior forward Meghan Smith recored her 15th career double-double on Saturday night as the Beavers rolled to a 72-47 North Atlantic Conference win at Thomas College (2-12, 1-7).

The Beavers improved their conference winning streak to six games behind Smith's game-high 18 points and 13 rebounds. Smith shot 5-of-8 from the floor and made all eight attempts from the free throw line. Smith was attacking the boards on both ends of the floor as the senior grabbed a game-high six offensive rebounds. Kennadi Grover (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) added a double-double of her own with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Grover shot 6-of-12 from the field and made four shots from the charity stripe. Kelly Pomerleau (Turner, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) contributed nine points, five rebounds, and two assists for UMF.

Thomas had three starters in double figures as Ashleigh Gagne led the way with a team-high 14 points and three rebounds. Katie McAllister and Jordan Agger-Barnes each scored 10 points for the Terriers.

UMF dominated in nearly every facet of the game. The Beavers outrebounded the Terriers, 57-40, dished more assists, 17-9, and scored more points in the paint, 26-14.
