BLUFFTON, OHIO – Sophomore forward Samantha Bolen continued an impressive recent run for Manchester University Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Bolen, a native of Greenwood, Ind., knocked down 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked a pair of Bluffton University shot attempts to guide the Spartans (4-10 overall, 2-5 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) for the second successive contest and third time overall this season in points as well as for the third game in rebounding and blocked shots. She also shared the individual steals' lead, picking off two Beavers passes to join senior guard Justine Kruger (Francisville, Ind.) and sophomore guard Katie Byers (Fort Wayne, Ind.) for the tri-team high.

Her efforts weren't enough for the visitors to calm an unbeaten HCAC and overall BU squad. The hosts, improving to 14-0 overall and 7-0 in the league, hit nearly 50 percent from the field (21 of 44 – 47.7), blocked six Black and Gold shot attempts and scored 30 points off 25 MU turnovers in route to a 66-32 win inside the Sommer Center.

Manchester University resumes its 2015-16 home schedule Saturday, Jan. 16. Transylvania University of Kentucky visits Stauffer-Wolfe Arena for a 1 p.m. tipoff.

NOTES: Kruger just missed joining Bolen in double-figure scoring, registering nine points. She also grabbed four rebounds to go with her tri-team-leading two steals … Bolen's seen her points-per-game average rise 1.5 points (7.6-9.1) in the course of the last six outings. She's compiled five of her six double-digit finishes in the span.
