Baruch Bounces Back to Defeat Lehman (94-55)

The Baruch College Bearcats got right back into action in the ARC Arena just 24 hours after their last affair, winning big against Lehman College by a score of 94-55 in a CUNYAC showdown
 
With the victory, the Bearcats advance to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in CUNYAC play. Lehman moves to 9-6 on the season and 4-2 in the conference.
 
The Bearcats came right out of the gate playing at an up-tempo pace, reading the passing lanes well, which resulted in four first-half steals. The Lightning kept the battle close through the second quarter via eight points apiece from Karrin Walker and Amely Del Rosario. Lehman's floor general concluded with 19 points, four assists and eight steals.
 
At the intermission,
Jacqueline Kennedyhad already posted a double-double—her 11th in 12 games. She finished just three blocks shy of a triple-double, turning in a final line of 32 points, 17 rebounds, seven blocks (career-high), two assists and a steal.

Kristen Podlovitsgot the offense going by assisting on five of the Bearcats' 15 first-half field goals, which included a pin-point one-handed bounce pass from half-court that threaded the needle to hit Veronica Ganziand led to a layup in traffic. The point guard ended the evening with 15 points, 12 assists (tied career-best) and seven boards. Ganzi racked up 24 points and hit five from downtown—just one three-pointer shy of tying her career-high (6 vs. Hunter on 12/4).
 
Coming out of halftime, Lehman's Jennifer Navarro scored on a driving layup following a pump-fake from the left wing. The Bearcats roared back by shooting 67.9% for the remainder of the contest, seeing their biggest lead balloon to 42. 
 

Maria Myrianthopoulosnotched a career-high in points, finishing with 12 on the evening. All seven Bearcats that saw game action would go on to score.

The Bearcats will resume action on Friday, January 15, when they will battle against the Beavers of CCNY at Nat Holman Gymnasium for another CUNYAC contest at 5 p.m.

They will return home to the ARC Arena on Tuesday, January 19, for a non-conference afternoon game against the Ithaca College Bombers at 3 p.m.
