The Beacons (8-5, 1-2 LEC) used a stifling defense to take a 20-8 advantage into the second quarter. The Anchorwomen (3-8, 1-2 LEC) held a 3-1 advantage just 45 seconds into the game, but a 16-0 run, which was capped by a three-pointer from sophomore forward Raven Kelsey (Boston, MA) with 1:56 left in the opening stanza, put the visitors in the driver's seat. The second quarter was much closer, with the Anchorwomen outscoring the Beacons, 17-14, in the frame. |

RIC shot just 28.0 percent (7-for-25) from the floor in the half, while the Beacons were a blistering 62.5 percent (5-for-8) from downtown, which contributed to their, 34-25, halftime lead. |

The third quarter was a back and forth battle, with neither team gaining the advantage and finished with each squad scoring 21 points to give UMB a nine-point edge heading into the final 10 minutes. A pair of free throws by Moore with 6:38 left in the game cut the deficit down to two, 57-55, but the Beacons used clutch free throw shooting in the final minutes of the game to clinch the victory. |
