FROSTBURG, Md. – The Marymount (Va.) University women's basketball team cruised to its seventh-straight victory on Wednesday night, taking down Frostburg State University in Capital Athletic Conference play, 68-34, to remain untouched in the league with a perfect 5-0 tally.

Through five games in CAC action, the Saints (10-2, 5-0 CAC) are one of just two teams remaining with unblemished records. York College of Pennsylvania also holds a 5-0 mark in league play after knocking off Salisbury University in overtime Wednesday night, 80-74. The two squads will faceoff on Saturday to see who will sit alone at the top of the CAC.

A balanced offense, seeing scoring from eight different Saints, was led by sophomore Nicole Viscuso with a game-high 20 points, as MU shot 45.6 percent from the floor. On the defensive end, the boards were handled by the blue and white, pulling down 40 rebounds compared to the 28 by the Bobcats.

The first quarter remained close, but with 3:07 left before the first break, the Saints grabbed the lead and never looked back. Through the first 10 minutes, Marymount had a 15-12 advantage over FSU with 10 of the points being registered by Viscuso. Seniors Kievanna Lacey and Miranda Krottalso dropped in two points apiece in the quarter, while sophomore Leah Hurst added a free throw.

The second quarter was completely controlled by MU, outscoring Frostburg, 18-8, to take a 33-20 lead into the half. Krott led the way through the 10-minute stretch with eight points, while Hurst knocked in two three-pointers to help spread out the advantage.

There was no slowing down in the second half, tacking on a 20-point third quarter and rounding out the contest with a 15-2 fourth quarter to seal up the 34-point victory.

Viscuso finished with 20 points and nine rebounds, just one board short of her third-straight double-double, while Krott added 13 points and eight rebounds. Hurst chipped in for nine points, while freshman Tyffani McQueen came off the bench for eight points.

The battle of the unbeaten between Marymount and York will take place on Saturday, January 9 in the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
