The Anchorwomen (3-7) would take an early, 3-2, lead in the contest when freshman forward Molly Phillips (Cranston, RI) nailed a three pointer off a feed from sophomore guard Jessa Rubera (Newton, MA) 1:42 into the first quarter. Brown (12-2) responded, however, scoring 22 of the last 24 points to take a commanding, 24-5, advantage into the second frame. |

The lead ballooned to as large as 25, 30-5, following a layup by freshman guard Shayna Mehta (San Francisco, CA) with 8:51 left in the second quarter. A trifecta by RIC freshman guard Abbey Burke (East Greenwich, RI) cut the Brown lead down to 24, 34-10, but a 13-7 run to close the half put Brown up 47-17 entering the break. |

The third quarter saw a see-saw battle between the teams, with the Bears outscoring the Anchorwomen, 16-14, in the period. Rubera keyed the Anchorwomen's attack in the frame, pouring in six points, with Hill tossing in five points and adding four boards. Ball did the majority of her damage for the Bears, scoring half of their 16 points in the quarter on 4-for-6 shooting from the field. |

The fourth quarter saw the Bears clamp down defensively, opening the final stanza on a 22-0 run, capped by a try by sophomore guard Megan Reilly (Norwood, NJ) with 2:03 left in the contest. RIC's Hill and Brown's Ball traded buckets over the remaining two minutes to give the game its 90-35 final. |

RIC shot 25.0 percent (13-for-52) from the floor, 22.7 percent (5-for-22) from three-point range and 40.0 percent (4-for-10) from the free throw line as a team. Brown shot a blistering 51.5 percent (35-for-68) from the field, 42.9 percent (9-for-21) from downtown and 91.7 percent (11-for-12) from the charity stripe for the game. |

RIC was led by Hill's 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Moore scored nine points of her own, while also snagging five boards. Rubera scored six points while also contributing two steals and two assists in the defeat. |

Ball led all scorers with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. Mehta scored 12 points of her own off the bench, while senior guard Jordin Alexander (Fishers, IN) scored 14 points on 6-for-12 shooting to lead the starting five. |
