OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball captured a 66-63 nail-biting Skyline Conference victory at home Saturday afternoon over the Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins to improve to 4-0 in the league standings.  With the win, Old Westbury took its record to 6-2 on the season for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.  The loss moved Mount Saint Vincent (6-6) to 3-3 in conference action.

Mount Saint Vincent controlled the opening period by jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead 57 seconds into play.  Trailing 17-16 at the end of the first quarter, Old Westbury outscored the Dolphins by eight points (14-6) over the next 10 minutes to take a 30-23 lead into intermission.  The Panthers closed out the second period with an 8-0 run over the final 3:16 to secure the seven-point cushion.

Old Westbury built its lead to double-digits 3:29 into second-half action off Jasmine Robinson's free throw to make it a 37-27 game.  Crystal Barnes dropped in a layup with 5:39 remaining in the stanza to spark a 13-3 run to push the Panthers' lead to 17 points (50-33).  Robinson would later extend the advantage to a game-high 19 points off a layup with 25 seconds left for a 56-37 lead.

The Dolphins trimmed a 19-point deficit down to five (61-56) with a 17-5 spurt to open the fourth quarter.  Barnes sank a pair of free throws to build Old Westbury's advantage back up to nine points (65-56) with 3:49 showing on the clock.  Mount Saint Vincent outscored the Panthers 7-1 over the final 3:29 to pull within three points.  However, the Dolphins were unable to land Brittany Carroll's game-tying shot from beyond the arc with two seconds left to force overtime.

Robinson registered game-highs of 21 points and four steals to pace the Panthers to victory.  She added five rebounds and four assists while Crystal Barnes used 15 points (7-of-9 FT) and 12 rebounds to go along with two blocks to record her 14th career double-double.  Raven Pentz captained the offense with a game-high eight assists.  Tori Bellings and Olivia Ilardi each nabbed two of the team's nine steals.

Kelly Nola's 14 points led the Dolphins' offense while Theresa Carey pulled down 12 rebounds.

Old Westbury connected on 39 percent (23-of-59) from the field, 23.1 percent (3-of-13) from three-point range and 56.7 percent (17-of-30) from the free-throw line.  The defensive effort limited the Dolphins to shooting 36 percent (27-of-75) from the floor, 21.7 percent (5-of-23) from behind the arc and just five attempts (4-of-5) from the charity stripe.  Mount Saint Vincent won the boards battle, 45-44, while Old Westbury scored 23 second-chance points off 15 offensive rebounds.  The Panthers also held the advantage in points in the paint (36-28) and fast-break points (12-8).
