JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Bryn Athyn College outscored the New Jersey City University women's basketball team 24-4 in the fourth quarter and blocked 14 shots in the game as the Lions upended NJCU, 67-36, in a non-conference women's basketball game at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court) on December 19.
Bryn Athyn College (2-3) led by just seven at halftime (29-22) and opened its margin to 11 after three quarters before pulling away from NJCU (1-9, lost 7) in the fourth to snap a three-game skid in the second-ever meeting between the clubs.
The Lions 14 blocks were the most by an NJCU opponent in 11 years and BAC used its size to control most aspects of the game. It outscored NJCU in the paint, 34-18 and 16-4 on the fast break while turning 22 Gothic Knight giveaways into a 19-9 margin in points off turnovers. BAC also outrebounded the Knights, 53-38.
