Sage - 64, Farmingdale State - 48
Albany, N.Y. - Farmingdale State sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored a career-high 35 points for the women's basketball team in the 64-48 Skyline Conference loss at Sage on Saturday afternoon.
The Gators (6-2, 2-0) led 30-14 midway through the second quarter until a Harrison layup and jumper cut the FSC (2-5, 1-1) deficit to 30-18. Sage held a 33-20 lead and outscored Farmingdale State 6-0 over the final 2:05 of the quarter to take a 39-20 lead into halftime.
After back-to-back Emily Parslow (Fonda, N.Y.) 3's put Sage ahead 45-22, Harrison responded with nine unanswered points to cut the deficit to 14 with 4:38 left to play in the third. The Gators closed the quarter on a 12-2 run to extend their advantage to 57-33.
Harrison scored 13 of Farmingdale State's 15 fourth quarter points as the Rams fell, 64-48.
This was the first regular season conference loss for the Rams since they were defeated by Purchase on January 18, 2014.
In the win, Sage was led by sophomore guard Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, N.Y.) who recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
FSC next will travel to Purchase for a conference game on Tuesday, December 8th at 8:00 p.m.
