Rams Open Conference Play with Win Over Yeshiva

Farmingdale State - 65, Yeshiva - 41


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team opened Skyline Conference play with a 65-41 victory over Yeshiva this evening. The Rams now stand at 2-3, 1-0 on the year, while the Maccabees fell to 0-5, 0-3.

After a low scoring first quarter where Farmingdale State was outscored 10-5, the Rams rebounded with a 26-10 advantage in the second to take a 31-20 lead into halftime.

FSC opened the third quarter with a 9-0 run to take their largest lead of the game at 40-20 with 7:39 remaining. Leading 45-27 with 4:37 left in the third, the Rams closed the quarter on a 12-4 run to extend the advantage to 57-31.

Yeshiva outscored Farmingdale State 10-8 in the fourth quarter as the Rams earned the 65-41 Skyline victory.

Sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored a game-high 20 points and added seven steals for the Rams, while senior forward Aries Adams (Bronx, N.Y.) pitched in with 10 points and a team-leading six rebounds.

The Maccabees were led by Rachel Mirsky's (White Plains, N.Y.) 10 points.

Farmingdale State next will host Albertus Magnus in a non-conference game on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
