The Anchorwomen (2-0) jumped out to a quick, 10-4, lead in the first quarter following a made three-pointer by junior guard Alex Moore (West Newbury, MA) just over four minutes into the contest. The Anchorwomen extended their lead to 12, 21-9, following a layup by Hill with 1:53 remaining in the quarter. The Golden Bears (1-1) kept the deficit at 12 going into the second quarter with a layup by sophomore guard Dorothy O'Neill (Staten Island, NY) with three seconds remaining in the quarter. |

RIC outpaced WNE in the second quarter, outscoring them, 17-8. The Anchorwomen increased the lead to as large as 23 points, 42-19, following a layup by freshman forward Morgan Burke (East Greenwich, RI), but the Golden Bears cut the deficit down to 21 entering the break after a jumper by senior guard Chelsea Vujs (Berlin, CT). |

RIC shot 55.2 percent (16-for-29) from the floor in the half, while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. WNE was held to 26.7 percent (8-for-30) shooting from the floor and just 18.2 percent (2-for-11) from downtown. |

The third quarter was a tightly contested 10 minutes with RIC outscoring WNE by a slim, 14-13, margin. The Anchorwomen increased the lead to 25 points following a made free throw by sophomore forward Rybecca Gonzalez (Pawtucket, RI) with 5:35 remaining in the frame. |

The fourth quarter saw the Golden Bears chip away at the lead, cutting it down to 18 with 5:29 left in the quarter, but the Anchorwomen held the Golden Bears to just five points down the stretch to take the 71-45 victory and claim the tournament title. |

RIC was paced by Hill's 33 points and five boards, while Moore recorded a double-double, scoring 21 points and adding 10 boards, while also dishing out six assists. Gonzalez led the Anchorwomen with six rebounds. |

O'Neill paced WNE with 18 points, three boards and two assists with Vujs chipping in 12 points and four rebounds in the losing effort. |

RIC shot 45.3 percent (24-for-43) from the floor and 93.8 percent (15-for-16) from the charity stripe. The Golden Bears were held to 31.0 percent (18-for-58) shooting from the floor and struggled from the free throw line, shooting just 44.4 percent (4-for-9). |
