GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo sophomore guard Kara Houppert scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Knights to a 67-56 victory at Oswego in state University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Tuesday night.

"Our rebounding, especially on the offensive end, was the key to tonight's win as we did not shoot the ball well from long-range and were sloppy at times," said head coach Scott Hemer. "We are all really proud of the energy level we had tonight being that it was a Tuesday night road game."

At 15:40, Ryan put back an offensive rebound to give Geneseo an early 12-4 advantage. Just under two minutes later, a lay-up from senior forward Katie Peterson extended the Knights' lead to nine, 16-7.

An Oswego lay-up from first-year forward Rachael Windhausen made it 61-51 with 2:57 left in regulation while two Lakers free-throws cut the lead to seven, 63-56, at 1:31, but the Knights held on to capture their eighth-straight victory.
