Saxons' women's basketball team falls to visiting Hartwick

ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's basketball team dropped a 64-48 decision to visiting Hartwick in Empire 8 Conference action Friday evening in the Galanis Family Arena.
 
With the loss, AU falls to 4-13 overall and 1-8 in Empire 8 play, while Hartwick improves to 5-13 (3-6 Empire 8).
 
AU was led by sophomore forward Amanda Off (South New Berlin, NY/Unadilla) with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Harley Cleary (Rochester, NY/Mercy) added 10 points; sophomore guard Maddi Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) had eight points and four rebounds; and junior forward Hailey Sick (Dansville, NY/Dansville) had six points and seven boards.
 
Taylor Vonasek had 19 points to pace Hartwick. Kelsey Brown had 12 points and Jacqui Foreman had seven points and 10 boards.
 
AU is in action next on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at home against Stevens.
