BRADFORD, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team came away with its second straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory with a 73-63 win over conference-foe Franciscan on Saturday.

Pitt-Bradford (11-5, 8-2) got it done by way of a team effort with four of the five starters in double-digits. Leading the way for the Lady Panthers was sophomore Kaserra Owens who tallied 19 points.

Freshman Ali Rinfrette contributed 15 points, junior Allison Osborne had 14 points and Abby Brate registered 11 points. Senior Alicia Kimmel stayed busy down low pulling in a game-high 10 rebounds.

Franciscan (6-10, 4-7) had three players reach double-digit scoring. Leading the way for the Barons was Lacey Huck who totaled 19 points with fellow starter Iliana Gonzales cashing in on 17 points of her own. Coming off the bench was Katie Rhodes who gave the Barons 15 points in a hard-fought loss.

The Lady Panthers started the game out strong shooting 58.3 percent from the floor in the first half and opened up a 24-16 gap on top of the Barons at the nine-minute mark. The Barons battled back with a strong defensive performance and eventually took over the lead with three minutes to go in the first half.

A well-called timeout by Head Coach Patrick Daniel for the Lady Panthers got them back on track and Pitt-Bradford was able to reclaim the lead going into the locker room, 36-35.

The second half started with the Lady Panthers taking control of the game from a defensive stand point, forcing Franciscan to turn the ball over nine times in the second period. Pitt-Bradford was able to capitalize on Franciscan's mistakes by converting eleven points off of its nine turnovers.

Pitt-Bradford outscored Franciscan 37-28 in the second half and did not give the lead back to the Barons for the remainder of the game.

The Lady Panthers helped themselves widen the gap from the free throw line shooting 88.9 percent (24-of-27) as a team for the game.

"Good win over a team that beat us earlier this year," said Daniel. "We needed this home win before being on the road for the next three games."

Looking ahead, Pitt-Bradford travels to face Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Tipoff is 6 p.m. in Erie, Pa.
