DiFebbo Nets Career-High As Gwynedd Mercy Defeats Rosemont, 88-66

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Junior Chandler DiFebbo scored a career-high 19 points to help lead Gwynedd Mercy in defeating Rosemont, 88-66, in CSAC action Saturday afternoon at the Griffin Complex.

DiFebbo, who also added four assists and three steals, was 8-of-9 shooting including a 3-for-4 stint from downtown. Junior Olivia Bradford added 17 points as the Griffins shot over 50% in the second half to pull away from the Ravens.

Liz Coyne led Rosemont with 22 points and 12 rebounds, both game highs. Dominique Sellers added 12 and Leilani Naone-Carter finished with 10.

The Griffins (10-7, 6-2 CSAC) built a 16-3 lead to start the game, holding the Ravens without a field goal until the 14:16 mark. Rosemont would climb within six late in the stanza before back-to-back buckets off of steals from DiFebbo gave GM a 38-28 lead at the break.

A driving layup in the lane and foul from senior Kelsey Yori (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) have the Griffins a 55-34 lead with just over 15 minutes to play. The lead would grow to as much as 25 before Rosemont would climb within 73-59 with 4:59 remaining. The Griffins would put the game away courtesy of a 10-0 run capped by a trey from DiFebbo.

Yori would total 11 points while freshman Dee Terry added 10 off the bench. DiFebbo, senior Natasha Matthews and sophomore Nicole Dombrowski each led the team with six rebounds. Dombrowski added seven points, three blocks, two steals, and two assists.

After going 15-of-42 (35.7%) in the first half, the team rebounded to go 18-of-33 (54.5%) in the second and finish at a 44.0% clip for the contest. Rosemont (7-10, 3-5 CSAC) was just 23-of-73 (31.5%) and 2-of-16 from behind the arc on the day.

Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Wednesday when they head up to Baptist Bible for a CSAC matchup starting at 6 p.m.
