No. 11 Hope Women's Basketball Wins At Olivet, No. 14 Calvin Next

Forward Maura McAfee's ninth double-double of the season and a game-high 20 points helped the nationally ranked Hope College women's basketball team win 73-57 at Olivet on Wednesday.

The junior from Midland, Michigan (Midland HS), scored 10 points in each half. McAfee also grabbed 10 rebounds, collected four assists and blocked three shots in 31 minutes.

Hope improved to 14-1 overall and 6-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. The Flying Dutch hosts fellow MIAA co-leader Calvin on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. 

Against Olivet, Hope grabbed control in the first half and built a 42-23 halftime lead.

Junior center Rebekah Llorens of Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), chipped in 13 points, including nine during the first half.

Senior guard Brittany Berry of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS), added 10 points. 

Hope is ranked 10th in this week's USA Today NCAA Division III coaches poll and 11th in the d3hoops.com poll.
