HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Spurred by a career high 24 points from junior Olivia Bradford, Gwynedd Mercy picked up their fifth-straight win in a 71-55 CSAC victory at Centenary Monday evening.

Bradford was 9-of-14 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from downtown and a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. Seniors Natasha Matthews added her fourth double double of the season (12 points/11rebounds) and Kelsey Yori chipped in 13.

A very similar first half for both teams shooting-wise put the Griffins and Cyclones in a 36-36 deadlock at the break. No team led by more than five points as each squad shot just over 42% in the first 20 minutes.

The Griffins (8-6, 4-1 CSAC) would squeeze out a lead in the second, as a three from Bradford and a bucket from Matthews put GM up 41-37 early in the stanza. Centenary (2-11, 1-3 CSAC) stayed in the rearview mirror for most of the period before two free throws from Yori and later a jumper from Bradford with 3:04 left helped restore a double-digit lead which GM would not relinquish.

Ally Fugnitti led the Cyclones with 14 points as she was one of three players in double figures.

Gwynedd cleaned up on the glass, 48-31, led by Matthews with 11 caroms, Bradford with nine, sophomore Charlotte Kucowski with eight and Nicole Dombrowski with seven. GM's 18 offensive rebounds led to 21 points.

The Griffins will travel to Allentown, Pa. on Wednesday to square off with Cedar Crest in another CSAC contest. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
