New York, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent senior center Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been honored for the second straight week and fourth time this season as the Skyline Conference Player of the Week in Women's Basketball it was announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Fraser had a strong all-around week for the Dolphins, who posted a perfect 3-0 week, including two victories over Skyline Conference opponents. Fraser averaged 17.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game as the Mount won its three contests by an average of 37.7 points per game. Fraser shot 58.1-percent (25-for-43) from the floor and totaled 53 points, 26 rebounds, seven steals, six assists and four blocked shots.
After scoring just seven points and adding five rebounds in 13 minutes on Tuesday in a 93-75 road win at Mount Saint Mary, Fraser averaged 23 points and 10.5 rebounds over the team's next two outings. She netted 25 points, on 12-for-18 shooting, and grabbed 11 rebounds on Friday in a 91-38 non-conference win over John Jay before closing the week with 21 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, three steals and two assists in a 90-48 Skyline victory over Purchase. Fraser went 10-for-18 from the floor against the Panthers in 21 minutes of work.
Through play on Sunday, Fraser sits inside the top-five in six categories in the Skyline Conference. She leads the league in defensive rebounds and ranks second in rebounding average and field goal percentage. Fraser sits third among the league leaders in scoring and blocked shots and is tied for fourth in offensive rebounding.
At 11-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play, the Dolphins will look for their seventh straight victory on Thursday when they welcome Sage to the Peter Jay Sharp Center. Tip-off with the Gators is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
