(GROVE CITY, Pa.) – The second-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team had four players reach double-figure scoring tonight (Monday, January 5, 2015) as the Saints defeated Grove City College, 86-31, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Grove City College Arena in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 11-0 overall and 4-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the PAC.

Grove City jumped out to an early 6-4 lead when Kelsey Shirey made a three-pointer with 16:46 to play in the first half.  Thomas More out-scored the Wolverines 37-6 the rest of the opening half to take a 41-12 lead at halftime when senior guard Stephanie Krusling (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) converted a three-point play with 37-seconds to play in the half.

The Wolverines opened the second half on a 5-0 run capped by a Cayley McClean three-pointer with 17:41 to play in the game to cut the lead to 41-17.  The Saints then finished the game on a 45-14 run capped by two free-throws by sophomore guard Kelly McDonald (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) with 35-seconds to play in the game for the final score of 86-31.

The Saints forced Grove City to commit 31 turnovers and shoot only 21.6 percent from the field, while only committing 11 turnovers and shooting 40.8 percent from the floor.

Junior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) led all scorers with 17 points.  She was joined in double-figure scoring by Krusling and freshman forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 15 points each and freshman guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) with 11 points.  Kiernan just missed a double-double as she pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, while Moss and junior forward Alexa Santamaria (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) each had six rebounds.  Moss led the team in assists with a game-high seven.

The Saints return to action on Wednesday (January 7) when they host Bethany College at 5:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
