MILWAUKEE -- For the second-consecutive game Alverno College lost on its home court, a 63-50 setback to Edgewood College Saturday evening in Reiman Gymnasium.
Mollie Mikyska scored 18, Julie Gallegos 10 and Tessa Mersberger scored a trio of 3-pointers for nine points for the Inferno (3-9, 1-6 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference).
Rachel Pope tallied a game-high 19 points for the visiting Eagles (5-8, 4-4 NACC) who became just the fourth team in the last 18 contests to top the Inferno on its home court.
Alverno trailed 36-14 at halftime, but a late run sparked by back-to-back 3s by Mersberge cut the deficit to 12 with 3 minutes, 23 seconds to play. But a following pair of turnovers by the Inferno kept the game out of reach.
Edgewood scored 24 points off 18 Alverno turnovers, while the Inferno scored just 10 off of the Eagles' 14 miscues.
The Inferno hits the road for its next game on Tuesday at Marian University at 7 p.m.
