BETHANY, W. VA. -- Sophomore Kayla Yost (Norwalk/Perkins) notched her third straight and fourth double-double of the season to lead the Hiram College women's basketball team to a road victory at Bethany (W. Va.) 69-64 on Tuesday evening.

The Terriers are now 4-5 on the season, while the Bison drop to 6-3.

Yost, the reigning NCAC Player of the Week, scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. She finished 9-of-15 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.

Senior Kelsey Koskinen (Madison) scored 14 points and pulled down six rebounds, while freshman Allison Vannoy (Mantua/Crestwood) added eight points and six rebounds, both of which are new career bests.

A jumper from Bethany's Carly Grady gave the Bison the lead, 59-58, with just over six minutes to play.

But the Terriers took back control of the game, scoring eight of the next nine points, to build a 66-60 lead with 35 seconds left.

Hiram made three out of its final four free throws in the last 30 seconds to put the game away.

A layup from junior Sierra Day (Salem) gave the Terriers an early 14-9 lead.

Hiram used a 12-2 run, capped off by two free throws from Vannoy, to open up a 31-22 lead late in the first half. The Terriers took a 37-29 lead into the break.

A basket from Koskinen gave with 18:06 to play gave Hiram its largest lead of the contest at 43-29.

Bethany would chip away at the Terriers lead, but Hiram was able to regain control and put the game away in the closing minutes.

Haley Holenka led three Bison in double figure scoring with 18 points.

The Terriers finished the game 27-of-66 (40.9 percent) from the field, while the Bison shot 20-of-63 (31.7 percent).

Hiram won the rebounding battle 52-41. The 52 rebounds are a new season-high for the Terriers.

Hiram will return to action on December 27 and 28, when it takes part in the Otterbein Smokey Ballanger Classic. The Terriers will take on host Otterbein on December 27 at 7 p.m. and Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) on December 28 at 1 p.m.
