Baruch Takes Control Early, Defeat Staten Island 75-60

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island, 75-60, in a CUNYAC contest on Tuesday night in Staten Island, New York.

The Bearcats broke open the game midway through the first half with a 14-0 run to turn an 8-7 disadvantage into a comfortable 21-8 lead.
Francess Henryscored eight points and Sheridan Taylorhad the other six points during the game-changing run.

The Bearcats would eventually build their lead to 19 points (32-13) before a late run, including a buzzer-beater by CSI, cut the score to 36-26 at halftime.

During the second half, the Dolphins managed to get as close as 52-47 to excite the home crowd, but the visiting Bearcats took control the rest of the game to walk away with a 75-60 victory.

Taylor had a monster game with 23 points, 16 rebounds and two steals. Henry was right behind with 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.


Iyana Abramsfilled up the stats sheet with 16 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and seven steals. Alicea Ulmercollected a double-double with 13 rebounds and 11 points.

Christina Pasaturo led the home team Dolphins with 16 points.

The Bearcats will play their final game before the final exam/holiday break on Friday, December 12, with a 5:30 pm CUNYAC home contest in the ARC Arena against the Cardinals of York College.
