CARLISLE, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team pulled down a season-high 48 rebounds and held host Dickinson College to just 11 field goals as the Bullets remained perfect this season with a 49-41 victory inside the Kline Center Tuesday night.

Gettysburg (5-0, 3-0 CC) shot a season-low 32.2 percent (19-of-59) from the floor and did not hit a three-pointer, but the Bullets out-rebounded Dickinson (1-4, 0-3 CC) 48-32 with 21 of those caroms coming on the offensive end. The Red Devils managed to shoot only 23.4 percent (11-of-47) from the floor, the lowest by a Gettysburg foe this season.

Junior Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) posted her second-straight double-double with 18 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. She finished 5-of-14 from the floor and 8-of-8 at the free throw line. Junior Emily Duggan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) finished with eight points and seven rebounds, while freshman Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) contributed 10 points and eight boards off the Bullets bench.

Dickinson jumped out to an 11-6 lead as Gettysburg committed seven turnovers in the game's opening seven minutes. The Red Devils continued to hold the advantage until Porter converted a lay-up to lift the visitors in front 14-13. A lay-up by senior Samantha Pagel (Harleysville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) followed by two free throws by Porter gave Gettysburg an 18-13 lead with 7:58 to go in the first half.

Dickinson would go the final 7:36 of the opening period without a field goal, but the hosts converted at the charity stripe to put the deficit at three (26-23) at the break.

The Red Devils' shooting woes continued in the second half as Gettysburg held the hosts without a field goal until a three-pointer by Ellen Bair at 9:10. During that time the Bullets steadily built the lead to double-figures with a jumper by Gibbons putting the score at 36-23 with 10:25 to play.

Dickinson refused to go away and trimmed the lead to five (42-27) with just over four minutes to go. Porter hit the glass for a pair of offensive boards and eventually drew a foul, which she turned into a pair of made free throws. A lay-up down the middle of the lane by freshman Jamie Relin (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) put Gettysburg in front 46-37 with three minutes remaining. The Bullets would maintain the nine-point advantage on another offensive board and put-back by Porter with 1:33 to go.

Dickinson was unable to convert a field goal in the final four minutes until a jumper by Mary Martin with five seconds to go that set the final score.

Gettysburg returns to action with a home date against Johns Hopkins University on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 8 p.m.
