Big Second Half Leads Women’s Basketball to 72-59 Win

Framingham, MA-Four Framingham State University players scored double digit points leading the Rams to a 72-59 win over Eastern Nazarene Tuesday evening. The game was the 2014-15 home opener for Framingham State.

The Rams trailed 33-29 at the half but outscored the Lions 43-26 in the second period led by a sixteen point second half performance for senior Nicole Bostic (Easton, Mass.). Bostic had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the game.

Sophomore Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) tallied 16 points with 8 boards. Sophmore Monte' Connolly (Lynn, Mass.) and senior Margo McCarthy (Southampton, Mass.) both had eleven points for the Rams.

The Lions were led offensively by juniors Nicole Greer (Odenton, MD) with thirteen points and Mhiah Vickers (Westlake Village, CA) with eleven points. Junior Elia Salazar (Los Angeles, CA) had 10 rebounds.

The two teams traded points to start the second half. A Johanna Annunziatta (Auburn, Mass.) basket at 16:22 gave the Rams the lead they would not relinquish. The Rams went on 21-4 run lasting nearly eight minutes in the second half to stretch the lead to 64-43 with just under 5 minutes remaining.

The Lions had 23 turnovers to the Rams 11. FSU edged the Lions in shooting from the floor 39.4% (26/66) to 34.9% (22/63) but the Lions shot 33.3% from downtown (6/18) to the Rams 14.3% (2/14).

The Rams return to action on Saturday, November 22nd when they host Western New England at 1:00 p.m.
