NEW YORK, NY (NJCUGothicKnights.com)
 | New Jersey City University freshman power forward BRIA SMITH (Bayonne, NJ/St. Dominic Academy) has picked up her fourth post-season award following an incredible debut season for the Gothic Knights, earning Second-Team All-Met Division III women's basketball honors, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) announced on April 14.

Smith is the first Gothic Knight to be named All-Met since former all-time great Latrese McNair was a Second-Team selection in back-to-back seasons in 2005-06 and 2006-07.

What a post-season it's been for Smith after one of the great rookie campaigns by a New Jersey Athletic Conference women's player in more than a decade.  In March,Smith was honored as one of the 10 best freshmen to have played NCAA Division III women's basketball in 2013-14 when she was selected to the Women's DIII News national All-Freshman Team.

Previously, she was voted the 2014 D3hoops.com Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year and NJAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year.

Smith is the first Gothic Knight to ever be named to the national All-Freshman team in a season of firsts in which she was the first Gothic Knight named as the D3hoops regional Rookie of the Year and the first NJCU player voted NJAC Rookie of the Year since 1994.
