The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team held its annual CARE for Children Mini-Camp on Saturday, March 22, at the KOA Arena inside the Richard E. and Ruth McDowell Sports and Fitness Center.

CARE provides school-based physical and occupational therapy services in several local school districts for children who have disabilities and delays.

This camp is an event that is held once a year to help children with permanent disabilities work on gross and fine motor skills. It also focuses on socialization and physical fitness related to the game of basketball.

A total of 58 children registered and attended the two-hour event. The participants went through traditional warm-ups before taking part in specific drills. Shooting, passing games and race relays were also included in the camp.

The entire Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team, as well as the coaching staff, participated with the children to assist them through all of the drills and relays. All campers that attended received a basketball and camp T-shirt.

"My women's basketball team and I appreciated the opportunity to continue this great tradition of having this basketball clinic," said head coach Patrick Daniel. "We had over 50 wonderful kids in attendance. Seeing the interaction and fun being had by everyone present is truly amazing. I know everyone looks forward to this event every year."
