Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw held visiting Denison to just 31.6 percent shooting and the Tigers committed just seven turnovers on the way to wrapping up their third North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament title with a 69-41 victory over the Big Red.

The Tigers improved to 27-1 and earned the program's 11th straight trip to the NCAA Division III Championship and 15th in the last 19 seasons. Denison finished its season at 21-7.

The 64-team Division III tournament field will be announced on NCAA.com at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3. First-round games take place on Friday, March 7.

Hannah Douglas knocked in a jumper on the Tigers' first possession of the game and DePauw scored the game's first six points. Denison's Gretchen Staubach stopped the run, but another 6-0 stretch pushed the margin to double digits at 12-2 at the 14:45 mark.

Another Staubach bucket followed, but Savannah Trees and Ali Ross hit threes to give DePauw a 14-point lead. The Big Red later closed the gap to eight before DePauw headed to the intermission with a 40-23 lead. The Tigers shot 50 percent in the first half and turned the ball over just twice.

The second half saw much of the same as Denison got to within 15 in the opening minutes, but gradually pulled away for the 28-point margin which was the largest in the 30-year history of NCAC title games.

Savannah Trees, the Nan Nichols Award winner as the tournament MVP, scored 17 including 13 in the first half.Alison Stephens added a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. 

Staubach paced Denison with eight points, while Jordan Holmes grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked three shots.

The Tigers shot 45.9 percent for the game and held a 44-31 edge on the boards for an 18-4 lead in second-chance points.

Joining Trees on the all-tournament team were DePauw's Alex Gasaway, Holmes, Staubach, Kenyon's Maggie Boelter and Ohio Wesleyan's LaNiece McRae.
