The women's basketball team defeated Brooklyn College, 65-49, to advance to their ninth straight CUNYAC Tournament Championship game on Friday night, February 28, at 6:00 pm against rival Hunter College.

The championship game at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium will be available to a nation-wide audience live on ESPN3.com online and where available on cable network systems with ESPN3. Please check your local cable listings.

The Bearcats held a slim lead of 21-19 at halftime. During the second half, they went on a 13-2 run to turn a 34-31 lead into a 47-33 advantage after a pair of consecutive three-pointers by Veronica Ganzi. That game-busting run helped propel the team to victory as Brooklyn College struggled to get the score to within 10 points the rest of the semifinal game.

The Bearcats (20-7) finished the second half shooting 51.5 percent (17-for-33), and received another balanced scoring effort with seven players scoring at least six points to record the tournament win.

Iyana Abrams (4 steals) and Sheridan Taylor (10 rebounds) led the team in scoring with 13 points each, while Kiara Johnson, who was named the CUNYAC Tournament MVP in 2012, finished with 12 points.

Nicole Francomano led the Bulldogs (19-7) with nine points, six assists and two steals.
